NEWS

Integrated Convoy Protection (Pty) Ltd has recently concluded a deal with the Royal Thai Army, whereby they will supply the Royal Thai Army with 87 REVA III Long Wheel Base 4x4 Automatic vehicles.

The are over 100 vehicles currently in Iraq (the vehicles were purchased by the US Military for use by the US and Iraqi forces). The vehicles are performed exceptionally well and a further 18 have been ordered.

BALLISTIC SPECIFICATIONS AND MINE RESISTANCE CAPABILITY

The REVA Armoured Personnel Carrier complies with NATO B7 + or STANAG 2 ballistic specifications. The TNT- mine resistance capability is:

7 kilograms of explosive under the wheel
14 kilograms of explosive under the hull as centre blast

The REVA Armoured Personnel Carrier is manufactured from specialized armour-plating (Armox® 500) steel, imported from Sweden. It is built on a solid v-shaped hull, a unique South Africa design which is combat proven, and has been modified to withstand the threats of today.

The composition is of 6mm Armox® on the side with a double skin of armour for added protection (also referred to as a lethality package), with a 10mm Weldox® bottom plate, 6mm armour on the roof, back door, firewall and nose plate. Rubber seating offers back support for passengers to safeguard them from the impact of a blast. Added Armox® 4mm is built into the floor plate and back of the seating for additional protection.

PERFORMANCE IN IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICE (IED) INCIDENTS

REVA Armoured Personnel Carriers have performed with exceptional results in incidents involving Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EODs) and Vehicle Bourne Improvised Explosive Devices (VB IEDs). In 20 incidents, there were no fatalities and 16 vehicles drove away from the contact area. The other 4 vehicles were repaired and in operation within 10 days.
